AAOMS is offering the Online Anesthesia Review for Dental Anesthesia Assistants at no cost for a limited time. The continuing education course – focusing on the principles of anesthesia administration and patient monitoring – helps prepare assistants for the DAANCE (Dental Anesthesia Assistant National Certification Examination). The online course (usually $325) is a condensed version of the in-person AARC (Anesthesia Assistants Review Course) and is open to all members of dental anesthesia assisting teams employed by dental professionals with valid anesthesia permits.
This concise review course includes the following topics:
- Basic sciences
- Patient evaluation and preparation
- Anesthetic drugs and techniques
- Monitoring
- Emergency procedures
After enrolling in the Online Anesthesia Review, you will have 45 days to complete the course successfully for up to 4 CDE hours of credit. After completing the course, participants will be prepared better to assist in the administration of sedation and/or general anesthesia and patient monitoring in the office.
Note: It is helpful to have a computer equipped with speakers, as there is an audio component to the online course.
