Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery Associates Renamed Fort Bend Oral Surgeons

IRVING, TEXAS (July 29th, 2019)… Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery Associates, Southwest PLLC – an oral and maxillofacial surgery practice with two locations in Fort Bend County, near Houston, Texas – is growing. In response, the practice is hiring a new oral surgeon, Scott M. Smith, DDS, MD, and changing the practice name to Fort Bend Oral Surgeons. The name change is effective immediately and Dr. Smith will begin seeing patients out of the Missouri City and Sugar Land offices in mid-July.

“We’ve been growing steadily for several years now and believe the new name is more reflective of the patients we treat,” notes William V. Jordan III, DDS, of Fort Bend Oral Surgeons. “We’re committed to the Fort Bend community, and the new name is symbolic of that. We’re excited to continue growing and providing our patients with the highest levels of patient care and clinical excellence. Hiring our new doctor, Scott Smith, will enable us to continue doing that. He brings a lot of energy and skill to this new position, and will enable us to provide more flexible scheduling and see additional patients.”

Dr. Smith was born near Dallas and raised in Houston, Texas. He received his bachelor’s degree in 2008 from Southwestern University in Georgetown, Texas, and spent the following year working in the thrombosis research laboratory at Houston Methodist. He later enrolled in The University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston’s School of Dentistry, where he was inducted into the prestigious Omicron Kappa Upsilon Honor Dental Society, Mu Mu Chapter. He graduated in 2013 and was accepted into the school’s oral and maxillofacial surgery, MD-integrated, dual-degree program. Dr. Scott completed his medical studies there, earning his MD in 2017 and his OMFS certificate in 2019.

We’ve been treating patients here for more than 20 years, so the name Fort Bend Oral Surgeons is a natural fit.”

Fort Bend Oral Surgeons is located at 3501 Town Center Boulevard South in Sugar Land, Texas; and 5819 South Highway 6, Suite 350 in Missouri City, Texas. The practice now has four oral and maxillofacial surgeons, who manage a wide variety of oral health problems relating to the mouth, teeth and face. They practice a full scope of oral and maxillofacial surgery with particular expertise in dental implants, teeth extractions, oral pathology and corrective jaw surgery.
