Dr. Courtney Anderson Joins Southeastern Minnesota Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery

MANKATO and ROCHESTER, MN (FEBRUARY 12, 2026) … FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE … Courtney Anderson, DDS, has joined Southeastern Minnesota Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery, an oral and maxillofacial surgery (OMS) practice with two locations – one in Mankato and one in Rochester. Dr. Anderson is accepting new patients at both locations. A Minnesota native, Dr. Anderson was born in Waseca and moved to Mankato during the later part of her childhood, graduating from Mankato West High School 1994.   

“Southeastern Minnesota Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery has been treating patients here for decades and over the years has built a well-earned reputation for exceptional patient care,” said Dr. Anderson. “I’m honored to be a part of that, and I’m excited to be back here, treating patients in both Mankato and Rochester.”  

Dr. Anderson received her Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) degree from the University of Minnesota School of Dentistry in Minneapolis.  She was commissioned into the United States Air Force as a recipient of a health professions scholarship and completed her OMS residency at Wilford Hall Medical Center at Lackland Air Force Base in San Antonio, Texas. 

Dr. Anderson served in the U.S. Air Force from 2002 until 2011. During her military career, she was Chief of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at Royal Air Force Lakenheath in England and later joined the training staff in the OMS residency program at Travis Air Force Base in California. 

During her service, she received numerous awards and accolades, including recognition as Air Force Clinical Dentist of the Year for the United States Armed Forces Europe and Field Grade Officer of the Year for the 48th Dental Squadron. She also received the Meritorious Service Medal and Air Force Commendation Medal. Following her military career, Dr. Anderson spent 14 years in private practice before returning home to Mankato.

Dr. Anderson is a board-certified oral and maxillofacial surgeon, the highest credential that can be obtained in the specialty, according to the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery. Her clinical focus includes dental implants, dentoalveolar surgery (extractions), facial and dentoalveolar trauma, pathology, hard and soft tissue grafting, and pre-prosthetic surgery. She maintains certifications in Basic Life Support, Advanced Cardiac Life Support, and Pediatric Advanced Life Support. 

Actively involved with professional organizations, she is a fellow of the American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons, a Diplomate of the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, and a member of the American Dental Association. She has authored several papers and is an engaging speaker on a variety of OMS topics.
