How are you spending your time at home?

“We’ve been spending our time building fences, clearing land, burning the piles, and for entertainment doing some fishing and social distancing on Lake Gonzales. The hummingbirds are incredible and we think we may have a bald eagle on the lake!” – Anna Bollich

“I am hanging in there between running and working out and watching movies I am also keeping in contact with the girls.  Been spending time with my granddaughter Arabella and Mike and I have been enjoying Italian Margaritas in the evenings.  I also have been doing a little cooking for my son since he is home from college and doing his classes online so gives him a chance to have mommas yummy food.   Well it is definitely different not working so out of the norm for me but I am occupying my time the best that  I can since being quarantined.”   – Patricia Hudson

“I’ve also started a page on Facebook called THE QUARANTINED HOME CHEF.  I have over 2000 followers now!   It’s to encourage people to cook for their loved ones and share it on the page.  Also I do mentoring over Facebook too helping people share their inner chef out to the world.  Food to me is something that can express who you truly are as a person. Food can also help show your creative side and who knows it sometimes can bring back a memory to whoever you are serving a dish to.  Just a smell or taste can bring back a nostalgic feeling or memory that’s been locked up in your memory bank.  A simple smell or taste can bring you back to childhood.  I encourage everyone to join my group!  It’s fun and I give out weekly challenges for our members to do!”  FB Link:  https://www.facebook.com/groups/298362597801145  – Robert Cortez

“We’ve spent this time painting and organizing our home!” – Jessica Aguilar

“We are all well and healthy at our home, thank goodness! My boyfriend is still working right now and for that we are blessed.  I’m taking this time away from work to do A LOT of home improvement projects on our home. It was last updated in the 1980s, so I’ll leave it to your imagination as to what I’m working with. LOL. We painted our dining room yesterday and left a tiny bit of paint out for touch ups as it dried and wouldn’t you know it that one of our cats got into the paint and little kitty paint paw prints speckled our dining room, hallway, bathroom, and living room. Her feet are now stained blue from the paint.

I’ve also been reading a lot (one of my favorite things to do) and catching up on true crime documentaries. Our kitchen has become a place of solace for me, as I’ve been cooking almost every meal for us and baking a lot of my Mom and Grandma’s recipes. This week I’m going to make my Mom’s cherry pie. Yum!

I miss everyone so much! It’s so strange to not be able to go to work. I anxiously await the day when I get to see all of your smiling faces again!

Stay safe, stay well, and cherish your time at home with your family!”  – Elizabeth Starke
